Hi all! Hope this new Sem has been good. Please take note of the following updates. 

1) Christmas celebrations 2012 took place successfully and with the support of several volunteers, we managed to carol and spread some joy of the season to patients at NUH. The comm would like to thank those who came down and participated. We hope it was a memorable one for you all. 

2) The comm has prepared a small token of appreciation for all volunteers who volunteered with us last semester. VPDs will be contacting you guys soon. So please do collect them! :D

3) Application for volunteering slots for this Sem is open! If you are keen to volunteer at NUH this semester, please kindly fill up the online registration form by 24th January 2013 available on the yahoo groups by 24th January 2012, no later than 6PM!

Available slots:

*Children ward: Mon-Sat (except Wed), 10am-12pm 

*Children clinic: Mon to Fri, 10am-12pm 

Adolescent inpatient : Tue-Thurs 330-530pm (Mon & Fri slots will become available only if there is an overwhelming number of sign-ups) 

Adults: Mon to Wed (4-6pm) 

Psychiatric: Mon to Thurs (4-6pm), Sat (2-4pm)

* The number of volunteers will be reduced from 5 to 4 volunteers per session.

4) The outcome of those selected as our volunteers for this Sem should be out by 27 Jan. New volunteers are required to undergo training on 2nd February. While previous volunteers who are volunteering in the same divisions need not undergo training again, those who are volunteering in a new division are required to attend the training session as well. There will be a compulsory orientation session as well, for which all the volunteers of this Sem have to attend.

Tentative schedule:

10-11.30am: children ward/clinic & adolescent training session

11.30-1pm: Orientation (EVERYONE) 

1-2pm: Lunch (everyone will eat with their own group to get to know the other volunteers who will be volunteering together with you this semester) 

2-3.30pm: adults and psychiatric training session 

Again, we would like to stress that the training session and orientation session are COMPULSORY. So please do make yourself available!

A note from our PD!

Hi everyone. Our wonderful PD, Alicia, would like to personally thank all the volunteers from the adolescent, children and adult divisions who went for their respective training sessions that took place on Friday and yesterday. Special thanks to all the VPDs (Elysia Tan, Ming Hui Sim, Regina Hong, Khai Chyi Lye & Wee Hui Ling) for doing such a wonderful job!

Updates:
- Volunteers for Psychiatric Ward, please take note that your training session has been scheduled to take place on this Thurday (13Sep) at 5pm.
- Volunteering sessions for Psychiatric Ward will commence only in week 6.
- Volunteering session for Children Ward, Children Clinic, Adult Ward and Adolscent Cabin will commence this week (week 5), Monday (10 Sep).
- There will be a total of 9 volunteering sessions for this semester (Week 5- week 13).
- All volunteers to take note that there will be no volunteering sessions during recess week, study week and exam week.

First session!

Volunteering will officially begin next week, Monday (10th Sep) for Children Ward, Children Clinic, Adult Ward and Adolescent Cabin. Psychiatric Ward volunteering sessions will being immediately after the training.

Application for 12th NUH Project Committee 2012/13

A warm welcome to all current and new incoming members of NVAC NUH Project 2012/13!

 

I would like to inform you all that NVAC NUH Project is now recruiting members for our 12th Project Committee for the NUH regular project.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate, and committed to volunteering and serving the student body.

The positions open for application include the following:

1. Vice Project Directors (5 positions, each for the respective divisions)

2. Secretary

3. Publicity Director

4. Events Director

Volunteering sessions/slots and the timings are as follows:

Adolescence Ward: Tue, Wed, Thurs 3.30pm-5.30pm

Children Clinic: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri 10am-12pm

Children Ward: Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri, Sat 10am-12pm

Adult Ward: Mon, Tue, Wed 5pm-7pm

Psychiatric Ward: Tue, Wed, Thurs, Sat 4-6pm

Training dates for new volunteers are as follows:
-children ward or clinic is 8 Sep (sat), 10-12pm
-adult ward is 8 Sep (sat), 12-2pm
-adolescence ward is 7 Sep (fri), 6-8pm

** Training session for psychiatric ward has yet to be confirmed.

For those interested in volunteering at children ward, clinic or adult ward, please keep 8 Sep free while those interested in volunteering at adolescence ward, try to keep 7 Sep (6-8pm) free for the training.

Dear Volunteers,

We have officially come to the end of the semester's volunteering at NUH! 

On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank you for your commitment and service to the NUH community. I hope that you have enjoyed the volunteering process, despite the minor hiccups that might have appeared along the way. 

Please do join us again for another semester's of volunteering starting in January 2012! There will be a new round of recruitment, so do look out for the announcement on our NVAC NUH Yahoogroups/Facebook/Blog. 

There will not be any volunteering activity during the holidays, but we do have an annual Christmas event organised for the NUH patients. More details will be released at a later date. We hope that you will be able to join us in this event. Do keep a look out for the announcement!

Lastly, just a gentle reminder to all session leaders: Please remember to submit your attendance sheet to your respective Vice Project Director by 19 November.
